We are Brina and Miho Goravica. Our family has been part of the island community on Šipan for at least a couple of generations. Traditionally we have been fishermen and producers of olive oil, and we continue to maintain our olive gardens with great care and love to produce our own delicious olive oil. In the recent years we are becoming increasingly involved in tourism.
On our property we offer seven completely equipped apartments. All of them have private balconies or terraces, or provide access to our garden so our guests can discover some fantastic views and enjoy the quiet natural atmosphere of island life.
We believe in the future of sustainable tourism. In the past couple of years we have gradually introduced changes to our accommodation units and to our business processes to make sure we decrease our environmental impact. In 2020 we partnered with our friends from the Dalmatia Green project who help us further improve our processes and services in accordance with their high certification standards for an eco friendly accommodation in Dalmatia.
Property architecture
Our property dates from a couple of centuries ago. The architectural plasticity of the ground floor points back to the 16th century when the house was initially erected as a one story building. Originally it had been a family house. Later in time an additional smaller building emerged that was used as a work space and for housing of farm animals. Today's first floor was built in the beginning of the 20th century. We reconstructed the complete property by 2005, building additional levels and areas in accordance with our new concept. During the reconstruction process we used entirely traditional materials and old stone blocks, while also applying the old manual technology of construction on rocks and with stone blocks.
We make sure we use natural fabrics such as cotton and linen, that are healthy and create an accommodating natural home-like atmosphere. The indoor and the outdoor furniture is also from natural materials.
Interior and furniture
In the past few years we have been working on implementing eco friendlier cleaning practices and have been getting rid of conventional chemical based cleaners. This year we are excited to announce that we are a chemical free property. We use eco friendly cleaners that contain no dangerous chemicals and are based on essential oils and fruit acids. Our tests proved that they are healthier and more efficient in removing dirt and bacteria compared with the variety of chemical cleaners that are offered in the stores.
Cleaning practices
We make sure we do our share by developing and operating our own composting process, and collecting glass and plastic bottles to bring them to the recycling centres on the mainland.

Having embraced the concept of sustainable tourism, we are aware that a system can only thrive when the individual "players" behave as contributors as opposed to competitors. Our community life and our connections with other local businesses are vital to the quality and the success of the services we provide.
